Maintenance of East-West highway in Kanchanpur begins

KANCHANPUR, DECEMBER 21: Maintenance of the Kanchanpur-Kailali road section along the East-West Highway has begun. Information Officer at the Road Division Office, Mahendranagar, Taranath Sigdel, shared that the repairing of the potholes on the road has made progress by dividing the highway’s Kailali and Kanchanpur roads into two sections.
According to him, the reair-related works are taking place on the roads from Lamki to Attariya and from Kanla Bridge to Gaddachauki through bidding. As informed, maintenance is being carried out in the 80-km road stretch in Kailali and 20 km in Kanchanpur area.
“The contract was out in a way to complete road maintenance works in three months”, he said, adding, “Mid-January is the deadline for the stipulated works”. Likewise, a contract of Rs 70 million was signed for asphalt overlay along the 19-km stretch from Chisapani to Lamki.
