Nepse benchmark surges by 27.75 points

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 17: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) benchmark has seen a significant rise of 27.75 points to settle at 2022.35 points on Sunday. Similarly, the number of transactions was 101,128 in the secondary market with its turnover standing at Rs 5 billion 157 million 846 thousand.
On the first trading day of the week, the share prices of 185 companies increased while the same of 52 companies went down. Similarly, the market value of the stock of 4 companies remained unchanged.
Among those witnessing gains today, 11 companies each posted a 10% increase, thus triggering the positive circuit. Himalayan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (HLBSL) suffered the highest loss at 6.77% among the losers of the day.
Barring aside the banking, mutual funds and trading, the sub-indices of all other sectors closed in the green. At 5.55 percent, the sub-index of the Hydropower sub-index made the highest gain at 5.55%, while the same of the banking sub-index went down by a marginal 0.67%.
