Hyundai Open Golf Tournament 2022: Pun wins trophy
Kathmandu, March 20. Krishna Pun won the won the Hyundai Open Golf Tournament 2022 here at Gokarna Golf Club. Playing with 11 handicap, he carded 43 stableford points to win the corporate tournament on the count back after being tied with Babu Poudel, Pun scored 21 points on the back nine whereas Poudel got 20. Babu finished runner-up in the tournament. Defending champion, SSP of Nepal Police Ashoke Singh came third after he scored 42 points.
Tashi Dong, Tashi Tshiring and Wangchen Dhondup were tied for the best gross with 36 points. Tashi Dong won on the count back as he scored 19 on the back nine whereas Tshiring and Dhondup got 17 points.
Maj. Gen. Narendra Rawal was winner among senior golfers age 60 and above with 39 points, his closest rival Bhairaja Panday scored 38 points. Prativa Rai was winner among ladies with 38 points, Kashmira Shah came second with 37 points.
Shyam Simkhada scored 37 points to win the category of Hyundai car winner’s category. Wangchen Dhondup got closest to the pin, Dawa J Sherpa got the longest drive award and Capt. Norbu Sherpa won the most birdies after making five birdies. All prize winner’s got samsung galaxy smart watch and main winner bagged addirionally Bushnell V5 range finder.
The tournament sponsored by Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., the sole authorized distributor Hyundai Cars in Nepal was participated by 155 golfers. The tournament was played under stableford format with 3/4 handicap.
South Korean Ambassador His Excellency Park Chong Suk, Chairman of Laxmi Group Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha, President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire and captain Joseph Nathan gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament.
