Coca-Cola announces new Dashain Campaign of ‘Gratitude’

Kathmandu, Sept 29.  Ever since the pandemic struck in early 2020, Nepal has experienced challenging times. It was people such as friends, family and frontline workers who provided hope and support to overcome the difficult moments.  Coca-Cola in Nepal announces a Dashain campaign themed “Dhanyabaad” with the aim to inspire and encourage consumers to express gratitude with a bottle of Coke to those who have been there during the difficult moments. 

Coca-Cola has introduced 8 new labels giving thanks (Dhanyabaad) to every person that we can be grateful to such as Aama, Buwa, Dai, Bhai, Didi, Baini, Saathi, and Sewa Karmi. The regular Coke labels have been replaced with Dhanyabaad labels this Dashain season as a dedication to those we have made a difference in our lives.

For the past 5 years, Coca-Cola has been introducing innovative themes under the global ‘Share a Coke’ Campaign, which has been localized as ‘Mann Kholau Coke Sanga’, focusing on bringing relationships closer. This year, Coke has taken a step further making it more heartfelt and personal. 

The new campaign was officially launched at a press conference where popular actress Swastima Khadka was announced as the new brand ambassador for Coca-Cola, and also featured in the new Coca-Cola Dashain TVCs. The new TVCs also carries a heart-warming song by singer Sushant KC titled “Dhanyabaad”.

Speaking about the campaign, Mr. Adarsh Avasthi, Country Director of Coca-Cola in Nepal shared, ” Coca-Cola celebrates this Dashain by giving consumers a way to express their heartfelt gratitude to family members, friends who encouraged and motivated them through the pandemic and saluting the frontline workers have kept us afloat and given us hope during the past year and who were out to ensure our lives were not disrupted”.

During the event, Coca-Cola facilitated 8 frontline heroes from various fields as a humble gesture to salute their selfless dedication towards the society as they protect and fight against Covid-19.

Mr. Pradip Pandey, Managing Director of Bottlers Nepal Limited shared, “We are glad that we are able to convey the country’s gratitude towards our frontline heroes, family and friends through our new Coke bottles this festive season. We hope the messages on the labels encourages our consumers to share it with the ones whom they are grateful for and make this Dashain even more memorable.

Additionally, Coca-Cola has introduced an innovative concept of sharing personalized messages through the Coca-Cola ‘Talking Bottle’.  Consumers can log onto www.coca-cola.com.np or scan the QR code on Coke bottles, then click on ‘send personalized message’. From there, consumers can enter the name of the recipient, select a festive greeting along with a message of gratitude and simply send it to the recipient’s email.

Coca-Cola expresses immense gratitude to the frontline heroes for their hard work, compassion and selfless sacrifice to fight and protect the community against the COVID-19 pandemic in Nepal. To show Gratitude this Dashain, Coca-Cola is reaching out to over 9000 frontline workers from various fields including the healthcare sector, NGOs, waste workers and journalists with customized Coke bottles and glasses.
