CATERPILLAR FOUNDATION EXTENDS SUPPORT TO COVID-19 RELIEF IN NEPAL

  Kathmandu, August 17.  Caterpillar Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Caterpillar Inc., recently announced a series of targeted relief efforts to support countries struggling with a significant rise in COVID-19 cases.As part of this ongoing response and a commitment to building stronger, more resilient communities, the Foundation is extending support to Nepal.

In partnership with Assist International, Caterpillar Foundation provided essential medical supplies including oxygen concentrators, non-invasive ventilators, ICU ventilators, patient monitors, nebulizers and related accessories to four hospitals in Pokhara City and the surrounding area. Recipients include the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, Rupakot VDC Health Center, Syangja District Hospital and Sankramak Tatha Saruwa Rog Aspatal. Scheer Memorial Hospital in Banepa and Kanti Ba Hospital in Kathmandu also received medical equipment.Tractors Nepal Private Limited (TNPL), the Caterpillar Inc.’s dealer for Nepal has played an important role on identifying these needs of the local community.

Acknowledging the support, Prof. Dr. Bharat Bahadur Khatri, Director, Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, Ramgarh, Pokhara, appreciated the timely assistance by the Foundation and Assist International for the COVID-19 relief efforts.
