Yashoda introduces chips made from finger millet

BUTWAL, NOVEMBER 19: Yashoda Foods Pvt Ltd. has recently introduced its new snack product- the triangular chips made of finger millet- in the Nepali market. Launched under the brand name of Current, this is the first product of its kind in the country.  It is said to be not only delicious and crispy but also healthy to eat.

“Since the finger millet is fortified with essential nutrients like calcium, carbohydrate, protein, etc., our latest product naturally offers various health benefits,” states the company source.

One of the prime objectives behind this launch is to help promote the farming of finger millet which is the second major crop in the hilly region in particular and the fourth major crop in the country as a whole.

Yashoda Foods has been manufacturing and selling various brands of instant noodles and snacks. Lali, Current, Current Hot & Spicy, and Current Hot & Lemon, among others, are instant noodle brands while the snack brands include Current Potato Cracker, Lali Cheese Balls, Blaze Cheese Balls, Current Sticks, etc.  Remarkably, the Current Instant Noodle worth  US 4 5 million is also exported to foreign countries like India and Australia.

The company started its business operation in 2017 in Tillotama in the Rupandehi district. It is not only providing jobs to 15 thousand people but also facilitating 10,000 farmers by buying their agro-products as raw materials.
