NEPSE goes up with FinMin’s assurance to boost capital market

KATHMANDU, MARCH 7: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index experienced a significant surge, rising by 13.51 points to close at 2030.55 points on the last trading day of the week. This increase is attributed to the assurance given by the newly appointed Finance Minister Barshman Pun that he will prioritize efforts to boost investor confidence and strengthen the capital market. He made this commitment during his assumption of office at Singh Durbar yesterday.
Among individual companies, People’s Hydropower Company Ltd. witnessed the highest gain in market value, with a rise of 10 percent, equivalent to Rs 31.80 per share. Conversely, investors in the NIC Asia Growth Fund-2 experienced the largest loss, with a decline of -6.21 percent.
During today’s trading session, a total of 8,929,152 units of shares were traded, amounting to Rs 3,199,205,000 in value. Nepal Insurance Company led in terms of the transaction amount, with transactions totalling Rs 56.2 million.
