Bangladesh beats Bhutan 2-0 in SAFF Championship

Biratnagar, March 14 . Bangladesh beat Bhutan by 2-0 in today’s match under the Fifth South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Championship.
In the match played at the local Martyrs Stadium, Bangladesh’s Misrat Jahan Moushumi and captain Sabina Khatun scored a goal each at 46th and 85th minute respectively of the match securing their team a semi-final berth.
Both the team had not scored any goal in the first half. The Bhutanese team’s defenders had strongly defended the attacks of the Bangladeshi players till the first half.
The winner of the group however will be decided from Saturday’s last group fixture between Bangladesh and Nepal. With the defeat, the Bhutanese team are out of the competition from the group stage.
Bhutan, in its first match, had conceded defeat to by Nepal by 3-0. Sri Lanka and Maldives will face each other on Friday under group B.
