Nepal to face host Zimbabwe in ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018
Kathmandu, Feb 16. Nepal which reached the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018 scheduled for March 4 in Zimbabwe after securing a wicket win against Canada on Wednesday in the ICC World Cricket League Division 2 championship will take on host Zimbabwe in the first match.
According to a tie-sheet made public today by the ICC, Nepal will face Zimbabwe on March 4, Scotland on March 8, Afghanistan on March 10 and Hong Kong on March 12.
Nepal is in Group ‘B’ that includes other teams, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Zimbabwe and Scotland.
Likewise, UAE, which became the league division 2 championship after beating Nepal by seven runs on Wednesday is grouped into Group ‘A’ alongside West Indies, Ireland, Papua New Guinea and Netherlands.
The winning three teams from both the groups will qualify for the Super Six phase.
In this phase, a team will play three matches, while the points gained from the group phase will be added.
The two winning teams will play in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 to be held in England.
