Air India sets 156-run target

Kathmandu, Dec 2- The inagural match between Indian cricket club and Nepal is being going on at  the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Monday.

 

Air India has set a modest target of 156-run for Nepal to win the inaugural match of the Sagarmatha Cement Journey to World Cup cricket tournament.

 

After being sent to bat first, Air India made 155 runs in 44 overs. Abhinash Karna was best Nepali bowler who grabbed four wickets. Sompal Kami took three wickets while Sagar Pun claimed two wickets.

 

A 20-member squad of theAir India had arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday to participate in the tournament.

 

Air India has included former Indian cricketers Vijay Dahiya and Reetinder Singh Sodhi in the team along with IPL stars like Manvinder Singh Bisla (Kolkata Knight Riders) and Paul Valthaty (Royal Challengers Bangalore). Dahiya, who played two Test, 19 ODI and 84 first class matches, is the coach of Kolkata Knight Riders at present.

 

The tournament is being organized by Zohra International to boost the Nepali national team for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.
