Uzbekistan defeated Nepal by 5-0

Kathmandu, Oct 9 – Uzbekistan defeated Nepal in AFC Under-19 Championship Qualifiers, on Tuesday by 5-0 score score differences.

 

A hat-trick from Normurodov Najmiddin crushed Nepal’s qualifying hopes as they are at the bottom of the points table after three consecutive loss.

 

Najmiddin opened the scoring in the 14th minute after his powerful free-kick beat goalkeeper Brijesh Singh.

 

Similarly they doubled their lead in the 35th minute when Singh put the ball straight into the path of Andrey Sidorov attempting to clear giving him an easy tap in.

 

Things became worse for Nepal when Uzbekistan were awarded a penalty two minutes after the interval when Biswas Shrestha was sent off for his miss-timed tackle inside the box. Najmiddin scored his second from the penalty spot.

 

Najmiddin completed his hat-trick in the 61st minute as Uzbekistan continued to pile pressure on the tiring Nepali team.  Shomurodov got on the score sheet 11 minutes later to complete the 5-0 rout.

 

Nepal will now take on Qatar on Thursday.
