New world record set as Alauddin concedes 39 runs in an over

Oct 3 – Bangladeshi cricketer Alouddin Babu has created world record for most runs conceded in a single over in cricket. He created the unique world record in Dhaka Premire Division.

Alouddin bowling against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club created the undesired world record in 49 over of the match.

Alauddin, who previously has played for Bangladesh’s U19 team, started the over by giving away 6 runs without even bowling a legal delivery. His first ball was a no-ball which went for a four, and was followed up with a wide.

The Zimbabwean all-rounder followed the six with a four. Just two deliveries bowled, and 16 runs had already come from the over.

The young Bangladeshi bowler couldn’t stop leaking runs as the next two balls went for six and four runs respectively.

At this point, Alauddin had already leaked 26 runs in his over, and the previous world record was under serious threat.

There was no stopping Chigumbura as he hit another six to make it 32 runs in the over with one ball still to go. Under immense pressure, the 21-year-old Alauddin bowled a wide.

With 33 runs coming from the over, it was already the 5th costliest over in the history of List A cricket. A boundary of the last ball and Chigumbura would have a world record to his name.
