National open volleyball begins in Capital

Kathmandu, Oct 2 – The First National Armed Police IGP Cup Open Volleyball Competition- 2070 BS, with the largest prize in domestic volleyball in Nepal began here on Wednesday.
The competition organised by the Armed Police Force at Halchok was inaugurated today by IGP of Armed Police Force (APF) Kosh Raj Wonta.
Participating in the competition are eight teams including the five development regions, New Diamond Club, Nepal Army, Nepal Police and organiser APF.
The total prize amount is 425,000 and the winner will receive Rs. 250,000, the first runner up Rs.125, 000 and second runner up Rs. 50, 000.
The best player will get a scooter and each best players of each match will receive Rs. 15, 000 each.
Although the game was inaugurated at APF Central Office at Halchowk, other games will be held at Nepal Sports Council (NSC) covered hall at Tripureshore.
