DSP apologizes for manhandling athelate

Jhapa, July 7 –  A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) here has been forced to apologize for manhandling a member of the general public for no reason.

DSP Nal Prasad Upadhyaya at the Kakarvitta Area Police Office had stopped Kumar Shrestha of Bhanu tole in Mechinagar-10 and manhandled him for setting out so early in the morning.

The incident took place at 5:00 in the morning today, when DSP Upadhyaya, flanked by his four aides stopped Shrestha and took him by the ear for not receiving a satisfactory response to his question, "where are you going this early?"

"It was a big mistake on my part", DSP Upadhyaya said, and added, "I will not repeat it, please forgive me".

Shrestha is also a National Karate Referee and Chair of the Federation Youth Association, Mechinagar Chapter.
