Army reaches first Gurkha Cup final

Kathmandu, June 12 – Nepal Army Club on Wednesday reached the final of an A division knockout tournament in the capital for the first time after seven years. Army crushed Boys Union Club 3-0 in the first semifinal of the Gurkha Cup football tournament being held at the Dasharath Stadium, Kathmandu.
Raju Nepali, Ram Kumar Biswas and Naresh Meche scored a goal each as the departmental team reached the final of Gurkha Cup for the first time. Army will meet the winner of the other semifinal between Three Star Club and Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) in the title clash on Saturday. The second semifinal will be played on Thursday. En route to the final, Army has remained unbeaten, scoring 14 goals and without conceding a single goal in the five matches played so far.
