Narayangadh-Butwal road section: only 52 percent work completed

TRIBENI (NAWALPARASI), JULY 3: The Narayangadh-Butwal road widening project, initiated in 2019, is approaching its extended deadline on July 23. Despite the project's deadline being extended twice, only 52 percent of the work in the Nawalparasi eastern section has been completed.
This section spans 65 kilometres from the Gaindakot-based Narayani Bridge to Daunne. According to Information Officer Shiva Khanal, 44 kilometres of the projected 130-kilometer four-lane road have been blacktopped. Currently, 27 kilometres of one-way blacktopped roads are usable, and the base is ready for blacktopping on an additional 6.6 kilometres.
Project chief Ashish Thapa Magar mentioned that the China State Construction Engineering Corporation, the contractor, plans to proceed with blacktopping in the prepared area but has not advanced any additional work within the current deadline.
