FCAN asks govt to clear their dues

KATHMANDU, JULY 3: The Federation of Contractors' Association of Nepal (FCAN) has demanded that the government immediately make payments it owes them. According to the Federation, Rs 40 billion is due for already completed projects and Rs 20 billion for ongoing ones.
During a press conference held in the capital on Friday, the FCAN claimed that the government's failure to reimburse them promptly has disrupted the supply chain of the contractors.
Similarly, the Federation expressed grief over the incident where Dambar Datt Bhatt, a contractor from Dadeldhura, committed suicide due to financial difficulties. "The concerned authorities must be attentive to the fact that financial instability among contractors could lead to severe mental distress, potentially resulting in such tragic incidents," it stated.
