Fuel prices go up

The Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the prices of petroleum products, effective from today. With this, petrol has become dearer by four rupees per litre, rising to Rs 168.50, while the prices of diesel and kerosene each went up by three rupees per litre to Rs 157.50 in Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amalekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj areas.

The price of petrol has reached Rs 170 per litre, while diesel and kerosene cost Rs 159 per litre each in Surkhet and Dang. Similarly, the petrol cost Rs 171 per litre, while the prices of diesel and kerosene each reached Rs 160 per litre in the Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, and Dipayal.

A meeting of the NOC Board of Directors held yesterday decided to hike the prices of petrol, diesel, and kerosene. According to the NOC, the market value of petroleum products was adjusted in the domestic market in line with the new price list of fuel sent by the Indian Oil Corporation. In the list, the price of petrol increased by Rs 4.48 per litre, while the cost of diesel and kerosene each went up by Rs 2.83 per litre.
