Hetauda cuts power leakage to 1%

BAGMATI, SEPTEMBER 4: Power leakage has been reduced to one percent in the Hetauda sub-metropolis area. Electricity leakage decreased by 5.67 percent in the last fiscal year due to strengthening of the Nepal Electricity Authority's (NEA) system. This included measures such as hooking control, improvements in customer billing, long-pending meter changes, and enhancements in electricity meter reading.

Shivaram Yadav, Chief of NEA's Hetauda Distribution Centre, informed that electricity leakage in the Hetauda area has come down to one percent in 2023/24, compared to 6.67 percent in the previous fiscal year.

According to the Office, Rs 229,379 was collected last fiscal from actions taken against consumers who were leaking electricity during the campaign.
