Police report feature added to Ncell App

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 6: Ncell has introduced a new feature to its customer self-service platform, the Ncell App, allowing users to apply for a Police Clearance Certificate, also known as a Police Clearance Report, directly through the app. This move aims to enable customers to access this critical public service digitally, enhancing convenience and accessibility.

"In line with its ongoing commitment to its "Sadhain ON" initiative and improving customer experience, Ncell integrated the Nepal Police reporting functionality into its app. Users can now submit applications for the Police Report via the app and receive the document online," states a press release issued by the company yesterday.

A Police Clearance Report is an official document that provides information on an individual’s criminal record status and is commonly required for purposes such as immigration, foreign employment, abroad study, or legal needs.

In addition, starting August 13, Ncell has zero-rated the Nepal Police website, allowing users to browse the site and access its online services without incurring any data charges. This includes services like reporting crimes and applying for the Police Clearance Certificate.

"As a responsible corporate citizen, we are delighted to collaborate with Nepal Police to make its services available digitally via our customer-friendly app with no balance charges applied. Initiatives like these are crucial for realizing the vision of a digital society and country," the release quoted Vishal Upadhyay, Chief Regulatory Officer of Ncell as saying.

"With Sadhain ON at the core, Ncell is working with partners such as banks to add more digital features to the app and support the government’s Digital Nepal vision."
