Various government initiatives are said to be aimed at generating job opportunities.

NEW YORK (USA), SEPTEMBER 24 : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, while leading the Nepali delegation at the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, urged Nepali youths living abroad to return home and contribute to creating employment opportunities.

Speaking at the World Leaders Forum organized by Columbia University on Monday, Oli emphasized the importance of youth in realizing Nepal's national aspiration of a "Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali."

During his keynote address on 'Nepal's Journey of Democracy and Economic Development,' the Prime Minister pointed out the lack of data on returnees, despite having records of students and youths who have left the country. He highlighted various government initiatives, including small-scale industries and 'startups,' aimed at generating employment opportunities.

Oli called for youth unity in the nation's development, stressing that Nepal's transformation was not possible without their involvement. He expressed optimism about the country's economic potential, stating, "Nepal's economic situation is not as weak as perceived. In fact, there is great potential for prosperity, which we can achieve within a short time if we work together."

The Prime Minister also noted Nepal's strategic location between economic powers like India and China, which positions the country as a potential multi-dimensional economy. Reflecting on his government, he underscored the importance of good governance and transparency, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to making Nepalis prosperous and happy.

Additionally, PM Oli expressed solidarity with the 'Lead-Free Future' campaign during an event organized by USAID and UNICEF. He acknowledged the detrimental impact of lead on children's health and outlined Nepal’s efforts to eliminate lead usage.
