Advance ticket booking for Dashain to open on Oct. 12

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 24 : The decision to open advance ticket booking for vehicles for the upcoming Dashain festival, starting from October 12, has been made. Saroj Sitaula, Senior Vice President of the Nepal National Transport Entrepreneurs' Federation, announced this following discussions with relevant stakeholders at the Department of Transport Management on Tuesday.
With the opening of bookings, passenger assistance centers will be established in areas with high passenger traffic. Here, Nepal Police and transport staff will assist passengers arriving at the counters for advance bookings and address their grievances.
During this annual festival, around 2 million people typically leave the Kathmandu Valley. Recently, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal instructed the Road Department to complete road repairs across the country before Ghatasthapana (the first day of Dashain) to ensure safe and smooth travel. According to the Road Department, road repair work is currently underway, although some problems have arisen due to the ongoing monsoon season.
