Net profit of NMB Bank surges by around 19 percent

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 23: NMB Bank has reported an 18.94 percent increase in net profit to Rs 1.14 billion in the first quarter of the current fiscal. In the same period last year, NMB Bank recorded such profit of Rs 963.2 million.
The growth in profit can be attributed to a 26 percent increase in operational profit, which has risen to Rs 1.7686 billion. However, the bank experienced a 10 percent decline in interest income. During the first three months of the last fiscal, NMB Bank generated over Rs 2.23 billion in interest income, whereas, in the corresponding period this fiscal, it posted a total of Rs 1.9979 billion.
