When Minister Khadka did not let NEA's Ghising to speak.....

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 23: The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation held a press conference today to share the achievements made in the 100 days since Deepak Khadka was appointed as minister. During the event, Minister Khadka highlighted accomplishments related to legislation, law drafting, and institutional restructuring, as well as in energy, water resources, irrigation, and hydrology and meteorology.

After the announcement of these achievements, journalists raised several questions. One journalist inquired about Minister Khadka's intention to relieve Kulman Ghising, the Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, from his position. In response, Minister Khadka clarified that there was no intention to dismiss Ghising. Ghising was present at the event, and Khadka asked him, "Do you feel this way? I haven’t heard that you have any such intention."

Following this, journalists sought to understand Kulman's perspective. When one journalist suggested hearing Ghising's response on the matter, Minister Khadka rejected the idea, stating, "This is a program organized by the ministry. If you need to talk to him, that’s a separate matter."

Khadka had previously sought clarifications from Ghising multiple times regarding the trunk line issue. While Ghising insists on collecting the dedicated line fees from the businessmen, Khadka appears to be more flexible toward them. Prime Minister Oli has openly sided with the businessmen, while Ghising, who stands against the Prime Minister's position, has been questioned for clarifications by Minister Khadka several times.
