Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car to roll on Nepali roads
Equipped with a 100 kW motor, this new version is priced at NPR 9.296 million
KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 9: Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor of Hyundai in Nepal, has lately announced that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric car will now be available with a 100 kW motor. This new version is priced at NPR 9.296 million.
The Ioniq 5 was first introduced to the Nepali market in February 2022. It comes with a 58 kWh battery, which provides a claimed range of up to 375 kilometers. The Ioniq 5 has also won several prestigious awards, including the 2022 World Car of the Year, World Electric Car of the Year, and World Car Design of the Year.
"Internationally, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is recognized as one of the most premium and well-designed electric cars. It has a futuristic and stylish look, featuring unique elements like parametric pixel headlamps, a clamshell hood, and pixel tail lights that are sure to turn heads," states a press release issued by the company.
Even though the 100 kW version will have a different motor, the range and other features will be similar to the 125 kW model. Customers interested in the new 100 kW Ioniq 5 can book it at showrooms starting today, and it is expected to be available in the market within a month, according to the company.
Built on an 800-volt electrical architecture, the vehicle is said to be the fastest-charging EV currently available in Nepal. It supports a 350 kW DC fast charger, which can charge the car from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
