Newly appointed SEBON's chair sworn in

KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 26: Santosh Narayan Shrestha, the newly appointed Chairperson of the Nepal Securities Board (SEBON), officially took the oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday. The oath was administered by Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel at the Ministry of Finance.
Shrestha's appointment was approved during a Cabinet meeting on Monday. Following the ceremony, he pledged to address the challenges facing Nepal's stock market and emphasized his commitment to resolving key issues. He further stated that he views these challenges as opportunities to foster growth and development in the sector.
Bringing extensive experience to the role, Shrestha served as Chairperson of Swabhiman Microfinance Financial Institution for nearly eight years. After the institution merged with Nepal Express Finance, Kailash Development Bank, and eventually Prime Bank, he continued as Chairperson for an additional 10 years.
In addition to his accomplishments in the financial sector, Shrestha also contributed to the energy sector by serving as a board member of the Nepal Electricity Authority for three years. His leadership is expected to mark a new era for SEBON as it tackles pressing market reforms and challenges.
