The Rs. 2.63 billion project has a capacity of generating 13.5 MW of electricity

PHUNGLING (TAPLEJUNG), NOVEMBER 30: The first production trial of the Super Kabeli 'A' Hydropower Project in Sirijangha Rural Municipality, Taplejung, has been successfully completed. The project, which harnesses the Kabeli River, has a capacity of generating 13.5 MW of clean energy.
According to Meghnath Dhungana, the project's Public Relations Officer, the power production trial began last Sunday. Following the successful test, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) technicians are set to connect the generated electricity to the national grid after final checks and inspections, scheduled for today.
The power will be transmitted to the national grid via NEA's Amarpur Substation in Paanchthar, which has a capacity of 132 KVA. Additionally, the testing of the 31-kilometer-long transmission line, connecting the power station at Rate River in Yamphudin, Sirijangha-8, to the Amarpur Substation, has also been successful.
The Super Kabeli 'A' Hydropower Project, constructed by Snow Rivers Limited, was completed at a cost of approximately Rs. 2.63 billion. It is expected to play a crucial role in meeting the region's energy demands.
In the same area, Kabeli Hydropower Company Limited is also developing another project with a capacity of 21.13 MW, further contributing to the region's hydropower potential.
