Stock market experiences a free fall
All sectoral sub-indices closed in the red, with life insurance suffering the largest drop of 3.07%.

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 8:The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index experienced a sharp decline of 45.93 points compared to the previous trading day, closing at 2,689 points.
This significant drop was accompanied by a reduction in trading volume. While transactions worth NPR 8.36 billion were recorded on the previous day, today's trading amounted to only NPR 7.46 billion.
In terms of stock performance, 27 companies saw an increase in their share prices, 214 companies experienced a decline, and 3 remained unchanged. All sectoral sub-indices closed in the red, with life insurance suffering the largest drop of 3.07%.
The declines in other sectors were as follows:
- Banking: 1.86%
- Development Banks: 1.04%
- Finance: 1.84%
- Hotels and Tourism: 1.81%
- Hydropower: 1.98%
- Investment: 1.33%
- Manufacturing: 0.32%
- Microfinance: 1.50%
- Non-life Insurance: 0.83%
- Others: 0.81%
- Trading: 2.13%.
