Tourism promoted in Guangzhou and Shenzhen

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 10: The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter has recently  promoted Nepal's tourism in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, China, through dedicated events. As part of the Guangzhou International Travel Fair on Mangsir 17 (December 3) and the Nepal-India-China Expo (NICE) Road Show in Shenzhen on Mangsir 19 (December 5), Nepal showcased its rich tourism potential to an international audience.

More than 250 outbound tour operators and media representatives attended these programs, which highlighted Nepal as a premier travel destination and promoted the upcoming NICE program, scheduled to take place in Pokhara from Falgun 12 to 26 (February 24 to March 9, 2025).

PATA Nepal Chapter Chairman Khem Lakai, CEO Suresh Singh Budal, and NICE 2025 goodwill ambassador and China market advisor Prof. Wolfgang Georg Arlt emphasized Nepal’s immense tourism potential. They underscored the need for collaborative efforts to advance tourism development and promotion.

Chairman Lakai noted that the Chinese government’s formal announcement of "Visit Nepal Year 2025" during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's visit to China has strengthened the NICE program's objectives. He invited Chinese tour operators to attend the event, urging them to experience Nepal’s natural beauty, cultural richness, and vast opportunities.

PATA Nepal further reported that over 200 buyers from China and India have already registered for the NICE program. The roadshow has played a vital role in expanding awareness of the event among Chinese outbound operators.
