NT reaches Palanta in Kalikot
MNMA (KALIKOT), DECEMBER 16: Nepal Telecom has launched telecommunication services in Palanta Rural Municipality, Kalikot, with the installation of a new communication tower at Palanta-4. This initiative aims to improve connectivity in an area previously isolated from telecommunication services.
Prem Singh Bista, head of the Kalikot Telecommunication Office, stated that the new tower is expected to provide communication services to approximately 10% of the Palanta population. He added that coverage will eventually extend to wards 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, as well as the neighbouring Pachaljharana Rural Municipality.
Local representative Tilak Buda described the tower's installation as the final phase of Nepal Telecom's expansion of 4G and 5G services in the region. "With this tower in operation, 4G and 5G internet and telecommunication services will soon be available in the village," he said, highlighting the significant improvement in communication infrastructure for residents who previously lacked access.
Indra Bahadur, chairman of the rural municipality, expressed optimism that the new tower would alleviate long-standing communication challenges faced by the local population.
