Dryport Customs office sees fall in revenue collection

BIRGUNJ (PARSA) :The revenue collections by the Dryport Customs Office in Sirsiya, Birgunj, have declined over the past five months compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.
During the first five months of the current fiscal year, the office collected Rs 19.78 billion, which represents 32.94 percent of its annual revenue target. According to Office Chief Dhan Bahadur Baruwal, the decline is primarily due to a reduction in exports of foreign goods.
The highest revenue was recorded in Asoj (mid-September to mid-October) at Rs 4.36 billion, while the lowest was in Mangsir (mid-November-to mid-December) at Rs 3.22 billion. In contrast, the corresponding period last fiscal year saw a total revenue of Rs 21.04 billion.
