Finance committee endorses Safe Transaction (first amendment) Bill

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 26: The Finance Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) endorsed the Safe Transaction (First Amendment) Bill, 2080, on Thursday. Committee Chair Santosh Chalise announced that the bill was passed unanimously.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel stated that minor errors in contractual agreements could be rectified, with the related regulations clarified accordingly.
Committee member Upendra Yadav proposed replacing the term "minor mistakes" with "issues relating to collateral." Similarly, former Finance Minister and committee member Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat noted that the concept of "minor mistakes" is defined under international law and suggested aligning the provision accordingly.
Member Dr. Swarnim Wagle emphasized the importance of including references to international law regarding such errors in the current legislation.
Other committee members, including Gyan Bahadur Sahi, Chhiring Damgul Lama, Juli Kumari Mahato, Ganga Karki, and Narayan Prasad Acharya, also shared their insights during the discussion.
