Khalti turns 7

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 28: Khalti, Nepal’s leading digital wallet, entered into the 7th year of its commencement last Friday (Jan 26). Acknowledging the achievement of providing digital payment services in various sectors, Khalti expressed its gratitude to all users, partners, regulators, agents, merchant vendors and employees who have been part of this incredible journey.
“Within a short period, Khalti has surpassed significant milestones, facilitating over 3 million users and processing more than 300,000 transactions daily across the nation. Not just limited to large businesses; it extends to benefit over 5,000 small and casual merchants who have been facilitated with the advantages of the services,” states a press release issued by the company. Khalti is said to have successfully built its family of 3.1 million users, 100,000+ agents, 60,000+ merchant vendors, 50+ banks and financial institutions and 1,500+ cooperatives.
Completing its seventh year, Khalti has evolved beyond a digital wallet to become a ‘Young and Trendy Financial Lifestyle Brand,’ focusing on the youth. Introducing new services like Khalti Quiz, Khalti Bluebook Renewal, Khalti Suraksha, Event Voting, Ticketing, Khalti Pro, and Khalti Club, Khalti continues to innovate and redefine digital experiences to meet user needs, the release claims.
“From the beginning, Khalti has aimed to bring financial inclusion to every Nepali. Today, as we celebrate our seven-year journey, we see the fulfilment of our vision. We have empowered individuals to make payments from the comfort of their homes, making essential services more accessible,” the release quoted Binay Khadka, CEO of Khalti, as saying.
To mark the the completion of 7 years, Khalti has announced to provide Rs 77 Cashback on the very first bank link payment done within the 7 days starting right on its anniversary- 26th January- to 1st February 2024.
