KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 21: The Supreme Court (SC) has today ordered the government to submit a written reply justifying its decision to ban TikTok within 15 days.
Responding to the writ petitions filed against the recent decision of the Council of Ministers to ban this social media platform, a single bench of Justice Binod Sharma came up with such a direction. The bench, however, declined to issue an interim order vis-a-vis this legal case.
More than 10 writ petitions were filed at the SC demanding the nullification of the TikTok ban. On November 14, the government prohibited it in the country citing disruption to the social harmony in the country.
