NEPSE plummets by over 28 points
KATHMANDU, MARCH 1: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has gone down by 28.68 points (1.43 per cent) to close at 1972.09 points on Thursday. Out of a total of five trading days this week, the benchmark index saw an average upturn of 57.36 points in two days and an average downturn of 22.62 points in three days.
On Sunday, the capital market decreased by 26.81 points while it increased by 13.28 points on Monday and by 9.43 points on Tuesday. The market saw a marginal rise of 0.87 points on Wednesday before declining to 28.68 points on Thursday.
During today’s trading session, the market value of the stocks of 220 companies declined while the same of 17 companies inched up. Similarly, the share price of 11 companies remained unchanged.
On the last trading day of the week, 7 million 446 thousand 991 units of shares of 308 companies were traded through 48 thousand 3 hundred 49 transactions. The total turnover of the stock market stood at Rs 2 billion 598 million 7 thousand. The amount is more by Rs 2 billion 30 million compared to yesterday.
