Tanahu Seti breaks contract with CMC

Kathmandu, Feb 19. Nepal Electricity Authority’s subsidiary company Tanahu Hydropower has terminated its contract with Italian company CMC.

The project terminated the contract after the contractor stopped working at the hydropower. Managing Director at the project Pradeep Kumar Thike said, “We wrote to the CMS informing that we broke the contract because the contractor stopped working.”

The hydropower with the capacity of 140 MW had selected the contractor last September.
The contract of Rs 20.64 billion was made with the CMC. After the termination, initiative would be made to select new contractor as per due process.
