ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup qualifier from today; Nepal eyes to get through
Kathmandu, April 12 . The International Cricket Council U-19 one-day Asia Qualifier is taking place in Malaysia from today.
In the tournament, Nepal along with six non-test playing Asian countries are taking on in the single round. Only one team securing highest score would get chance to play U-19 World Cup to be held in South Africa on January 2019.
Other countries in the qualifying race are Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Kuwait and Oman besides Nepal. Nepal is taking on Singapore today. Before this tournament, Nepal had played six friendly matches against U-19 cricket squad of Andra Pradesh of India. Nepal had won four matches and lost two.
As a captain national team member Rohit Kumar Poudel is leading the team. Former captain of the national cricket team Binod Das is coaching the Nepali team. . Nepal will finally play against Oman on Tuesday and Kuwait on Thursday in this qualifier round.
